Course in Early Childhood Education
This new course provides study skills specifically aimed at people looking to enrol in Early Childhood Education with a view to working in childcare, kindergartens, or as a teacher’s aide.
An early childhood education centre – getting to know the layout, roles, routines, and some administrative requirements.
Safety – food hygiene, allergies and special dietary needs, first aid and emergencies, accidents, and accident report forms.
Health and wellbeing – rest and sleep, nutrition, learning through play, and recording observations.
Cultural awareness – cultural inclusion, cultural awareness, aboriginal cultural awareness, and dealing with difficult questions.
Relationships and communication – building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Administrative tasks - record keeping, report writing, duty of care, policies and procedures.
